Meet Jen

This portfolio showcases my work in technical writing and communication, a field I have come to love during my graduate program. I will be graduating in December 2025 with an MA in Professional and Technical Communication from the University of North Texas. I also study rhetoric at Texas Woman's University and plan to graduate with my doctorate in May 2026.

Writing is my life. I love writing, language, and clear communication. I know its power to build, from brands and businesses to relationships and communities. Writing is an incredible tool for human connection, when it is clear, compelling, and purpose-focused—all qualities of excellent technical communication.

Who I am

Writer: I have 15+ years of combined experience in a variety of writing genres, including technical, professional, academic, and creative. My publications include op-eds, peer-reviewed academic works, and children's books and poetry.

Teacher: I am college writing instructor with over 6 years of experience teaching college writing and technical writing at the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas.

Mom & Gigi: I wear many hats, but my most treasured ones are Mom and Gigi. My husband and I have five beautiful grown and almost-grown children, as well as one spunky, adorable granddaughter.
